The activity in all ports of Ukraine ceased on February 24th, 2022, and Skytek used high-resolution satellite imagery to monitor the condition of ships and equipment in various Ukrainian ports.
The sub-tropical depression Issa in the Indian Ocean brought heavy flooding to the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal on April 11th and 12th, damaging the infrastructure connecting the port of Durban to the rest of the ten road networks.
Transnet (the national port operator) suspended the port operations evening of April 11th due to road closures and severe flooding and commenced gradually re-opening the ships’ transit in the morning on April 13th, 2022.
Skytek identifies 41 cargo ships anchored or drifting and 26 moored alongside in Durban port. Due to port closure, there is a 15% increase in the ships waiting from the monthly average number.
In the Middle East, the oil facilities in Saudi Arabia have frequently been targeted by Yemen’s Houthi rebels with weaponised drones and short-range ballistic missiles. North Jeddah Bulk Plant oil storage is the Saudi’s state oil operator Aramco, constituting a project that links the refining hub of Yanbu to Jeddah via two pipelines transporting oil products, including gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, along the coasts of the Red Sea.

The Russian army has been fighting in the city of Kherson since February 24th and occupied Kherson International Airport on February 25th, 2022. This was confirmed by satellite imagery acquired on February 28th, showing a large concentration of Russian military trucks stationed near the airport.

The 52.75m motor yacht Vixit (previously named Passion, until 2017), was built at Oskarshamns shipyard in Sweden.
The yacht was delivered to its Owner in 1989 having the interior styled by design house Dvorine Associates. The luxury vessel’s exterior design is the work of Diana Yacht Design and she was last refitted in 2013.
On 01 March 2022, a low-pressure system hit the Easter Australian coast, from southeast Queensland to northern New South Wales. The event resulted in strong winds and heavy rainfall that lasted for 4 days. Meteorologists would typically expect the low-pressure areas to move West to East more rapidly than witnessed on this occasion. In this instance, there was a high-pressure system sitting off the East coast blocking the progression towards the East to occur.
